Off to Paris!

As of Friday at 5:20 p.m. I will be on a flight to Paris for a few days of business and a few days of fun. Finally 3 years of high school French is paying off!
I have always wanted to go to France and am so blessed to have the opportunity to go there, practically free, for my job. Lindsey is going to meet me there so that we can play for a few days before my meeting and we are staying at this adorable little boutique hotel that serves you breakfast in your room for free every morning! We have no real plans, just dinner reservations at a restaurant with a balcony that has a killer view looking directly at the Eifell Tower. I promise to post lots of stories and pictures as soon as I return. Aurevoir!

I'm in love

I know that I just recently posted a picture of our master bedroom, but I have since found the exact picture of what I want our bedroom to look like. As soon as the Spring Cleaning frenzy has died down, I well set out to emulate this picture. Wish me luck! (and please also wish Matt patience! haha )

Spring Cleaning!

I am definitely a victim of my Type A personality, and I fear it is worsening as I get older. On Sunday I began the process of Spring Cleaning at our house. Typically this lasts a day or two, but it seems it is still going and we are now on day 4! I can't stop!
For some unexplainable reason, I feel the need to simplify things as much as possible. Maybe it's seeing Chad and Amanda with Emma and realizing that in the grand scheme of life, "stuff" just really isn't that important. The 27 extra picture frames that I haven't used in forever taking up space in the guest room closet, the 4 cookbooks I used and didn't like, the 5 pairs of shoes from Target that I wore once but have no desire to wear again, the list goes on and on. These are all perfectly good items that have no sentimental value to me, and that someone less fortunate than myself would probably be very happy to have and use. All items that do nothing but collect dust in our house and send me into a state of panic when I open the overflowing closet doors. I mean, there is no earthly reason that two people should have enough stuff to fill 3 closets! It's not normal!
I'm not sure how long this cleaning/organizing rampage is going to last. Every day I wake up and wonder why it's still here, why I can't fight the urge to dive into another overflowing closet or messy drawer and have at it. Poor Matt is probably one day away from sending me to the crazy farm, so if you don't hear from me for a while, don't fear- I'm probably in a padded room devoid of clutter and unncessary "stuff" :)
